29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(6): Ladders shall be used only on stable and level surfaces unless secured to prevent accidental displacement: a) On or about August 7, 2013 at jobsite located at 55 E. Grand Avenue, Chicago, IL - an employee was using a portable twelve (12) foot step ladder that was set up on an uneven surface. The employee was installing electrical hardware (outlets and conduit) and extended beyond the outer rails causing the ladder to become displaced. The employee was thereby exposed to fall hazards of approximately ten (10) feet.
