OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish the employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm:  On or about 7/7/13, Intersection of County Line Road and Hope Chapel Road:  Employees were exposed to vehicular struck-by hazards where working for greater than 3 hours in a temporary traffic control setup that did not meet the requirements of American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD):    a) No advanced warning signs were posted prior to the eastbound lane closures on County line Rd where the work was occurring on the traveled way.    b) No advanced warning signs were posted in either direction on Hope Chapel Rd where the work was occurring on the traveled way.       c) A merging taper was not used to close the left lane of East-bound County Line Rd.    d) Traffic was not channelized away from employees performing striping activities on Hope Chapel Rd   NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
