29 CFR 1926.651(i)(2): Excavation below the level of the base or footing of any foundation or retaining wall that could be reasonably expected to pose a hazard to the employees was not prohibited   (a) 501 Marne Hwy, Hainesport:  On or about 8/19/2013, the employer, Desert Dry Basement Waterproofing failed to protect employees from crushing hazards while installing a drainage system in the basement of a residence.  Employees were allowed to excavate soil below the level of the base of the wall resulting in the partial collapse of a section of the wall.   NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
