29 CFR 1910.178(p)(1): If at any time a powered industrial truck is found to be in need of repair, defective, or in any way unsafe, the truck shall be taken out of service until it has been restored to safe operating condition. WORKSHOP: The powered industrial trucks (PITs)contained the following defects. 1. Nissan 30 PIT was not equipped with covered on the back lights and no light bulbs for the back up lights on the right and left sides. 2. 35 Nissan right back up light was broken and both back up lights were not operable 3. 35 Nissan white back up lights were not operable. ABATED DURING THE INSPECTION.
