29 CFR 1926.651(a): All surface encumbrances that were located so as to create a hazard to employees were not removed or supported, as necessary, to safeguard employees: In front of 143 New Britain Ave.: On or about 08/23/2013 the employer did not ensure that all surface encumbrances that are located so as to create hazard to employees were removed or supported. An employee fell into the trench when he was running parallel to the trench to avoid an 8 inch gas pipe rolling into the trench. The employee sustained injuries to upper left arm.
