29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1):  Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.    a) MacArthur Blvd., Somers Point:   An employee using the sloped (6 on 12) roof of a commercial building under construction as his walking working surface was not using fall protection (PFAS, safety nets, guardrails, etc.) and was thus exposed to a fall hazard of greater than 11 feet from the roof's eave to the ground.   Observed on or about 8/30/2013.     NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
