29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:    9 Latti Farm Rd, Millbury MA    On 9/16/13, and at times prior, the employer exposed employees to mechanical hazards due to lack of machine guarding.      Instance 1:  Four lines consisting of more than 80 individual Muller Martini SLS 1000 Inserting machines had no guarding on the horizontal areas above moving parts.  Also hinged guards were secured in the up position on vertical areas adjacent to the 80 plus inserting machines.  On 9/9/13, one of the employees feeding a SLS 1000 inserting machine was injured when his arm became caught in the machine in one of the unguarded horizontal hazardous areas.     Instance 2: On 9/9/13 and at times prior, guards were frequently removed from a Muller Martini SLS 2000 Inserting machine, exposing employees to mechanical hazards.
