The employer exposed employees to fall hazards of 22-feet 10-inches while installing weatherproofing materials. The employees, working from a steep pitched, 8 in 12, unprotected roof, were not utilizing fall protection.

29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to upper landing surfaces, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface to which the ladders were used to gain access. a) Front of residence located at 918 Sandringham Drive, Milton, Georgia. The employer exposed employees to fall hazards while mounting and dismounting an aluminum extension ladder. The side rails of the ladder did not extend at least 3-feet above the upper landing, a steep pitched, 8 in 12, unprotected roof, which was 22-feet 10-inches above ground level.

The employer, who exposed employees to fall hazards of 22-feet 10-inches while installing weatherproofing materials, did not provide a training program, which would have enabled the exposed employees to recognize and minimize the hazards associated with falls.
