OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm with employees exposed to struck by hazards.    Job site located at 17615 Plattview Rd., Springfield, NE 68059-The employer is failing to protect employees from exposure to struck by hazards associated with grinder operations.  This most recently occurred when the employer allowed employees to operate a pedestal bench grinder without a work rest in place on the grinder.    Among other methods, feasible and acceptable methods of abatement are:        1)  Ensure that bench grinders have appropriately installed and adjusted work rests within 1/8 inch of the grinding wheel.        2)  Ensure that employees have received training on the proper guarding of grinders.

Job site located at 17615 Platteview Road, Springfield, NE 68059-The employer is failing to protect employees from exposure to fire/explosion hazards associated with dust accumulations.  This most recently occurred when the employer allowed employees to operate the roller mill in the facility and the dust accumulations exceeded 1/8th inch.    Among other methods, feasible and acceptable methods of abatement are:        1)  Ensure that employees are trained on the hazards of dust accumulations.        2)  Ensure that a housekeeping program is developed and implemented to eliminate accumulations of fugitive dust.
