29 CFR 1910.303(b)(2): Listed or labeled electrical equipment was not used or installed in accordance with instructions included in the listing or labeling:  (a)  Northwest Office, Attorney Office Area;  Two white relocatable power taps were plugged into other relocatable power taps. The UL listing states that relocatable power taps are designed to be plugged into an outlet, and not daisy chained and plugged into other relocatable power taps or extension cords.  This exposes employees to possible electrical fire hazards.    (b)  Northwest Office, Attorney Office Area;  A Sanyo refrigerator was plugged into a brown extension cord, which was plugged into a grey extension cord, which was plugged into a white relocatable power tap. The UL listing states that extension cords are to be used only for temporary power (eg. Christmas lights) and extension cords must not be daisy chained and plugged into other extension cords or relocatable power taps. The UL listing states that relocatable power taps and extension cords are designed for low amperage computer and audiovisual types of equipment, and not appliances such as mini refrigerators.  This exposes employees to possible electrical fire hazards.    (c)  Kitchen/ Break Room;  A Panasonic microwave was plugged into a white extension cord. The UL listing states that extension cords are to be used only for temporary power (eg. Christmas lights). The UL listing states that extension cords are designed for low amperage computer and audiovisual types of equipment, and not appliances such as microwaves.  This exposes employees to possible electrical fire hazards.
