29 CFR 1926.100(a): Employees working in areas where there is a possible danger of head injury from impact, or from falling or flying objects, or from electrical shock and burns, shall be protected by protective helmets. a. On the site where the Project Superintendent was walking below the area where framing was performed, head protection was not used thereby exposing employees to a struck-by hazard.

29 CFR 1926.405(a)(2)(ii)(I): Flexible cords and cables shall be protected from damage. Sharp corners and projections shall be avoided. Flexible cords and cables may pass through doorways or other pinch points, if protection is provided to avoid damage. a. At the front of Building 10, there was a extension cord which ran across the dirt road and was exposed to damage from vehicle traffic. The cord was used to provide power to the framers on the roof.

Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a. On the roof of building 5 where the employees were framing the roof deck, the employer did not ensure employees were wearing fall protection thereby exposing employees to a fall hazard.
