29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems:  a) 3rd Floor, North Side of the Building - A laborer was observed without fall protection while collecting scrap framing exposing him to a 30 foot fall hazard, on or about 10/30/13.  This contractor is the general contractor for the site, thusly; they are the controlling and correcting employer for the site. The superintendent stated he conducts daily inspections and is continuously monitoring all operations. The superintendent stated in his interview that he was aware of the operations in progress. Therefore, this contractor is being cited Under the Multi-Employer Workplace Policy

29 CFR 1926.502(b)(2): Midrails, screens, mesh, intermediate vertical members, or equivalent intermediate structure members were not installed between the top edge of the guardrail system and the walking/working surface when there was no wall or parapet wall at least 21 inches (53 cm) high.  a) 2nd Floor, North Side of the Building - A laborer was observed without adequate fall protection while collecting scrap framing exposing him to a 20 foot fall hazard, on or about 10/30/13.  This contractor is the general contractor for the site, thusly; they are the controlling and correcting employer for the site. The superintendent stated he conducts daily inspections and is continuously monitoring all operations. The superintendent stated in his interview that he was aware of the operations in progress.
