Employee was exposed to falls of over 20 feet to the ground below as he was not "tied off" while using the Genie articulating boom lift. Violation observed on 11/06/2013.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: a) 270 Newark Avenue, Jersey City, NJ. Employee was exposed to falls of over 14 feet to the sidewalk below as he was working from on top of the fire escape railings without any form of fall protection. Violation observed on 11/06/2013.

Employees were exposed to "over-the-railing" falls of over 14 feet to the sidewalk below from the fire escape as the top rail of the fire escape was only 33 1/2 inches high. Violation observed on 11/06/2013.
