29 CFR 1910.147(c)(1): The employer did not establish a program consisting of an energy control procedure, employee training and periodic inspections to ensure that before any employee performed any servicing or maintenance on a machine or equipment where the unexpected energing, startup or release of stored energy could occur and cause injury, the machine or equipment shall be isolated from the energy source and rendered inoperative: The employer failed to develop a hazardous energy control program for production machines such as but not limited to the CNCs, gear machines and screw machines. Abatement certification is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(c).

29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: The employer did not use adequate machine guarding to protect employees. Employees were exposed to cuts, lacerations, fractures and amputations when operating the following CNC machines: 1. Daewoo ACE-V65. Permitted access to point of operation. The machines were not protected by devices such as but not limited to interlocks. 2. MoriSeiki SL-35. Permitted access to point of operation. The machines were not protected by devices such as but not limited to interlocks. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d)
