29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1): The employer shall assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). If such hazards are present, or likely to be present, the employer shall comply with sections (i) through (iii) of this standard:   a. Press Room, Philadelphia Macaroni Co. - On or about November 8, 2013, the employer did not perform a workplace hazard assessment for an employee who was servicing a pump to the ChemStation tanks who was exposed to the hazards of Sodium Hypochlorite (pH 12.1) and a Chlorinated Alkaline Concentrate (pH 14.0) without personal protective equipment.

29 CFR 1910.132(f)(1): The employer shall provide training to each employee who is required by this section to use PPE. Each such employee shall be trained to know at least the requirements of sections i through v, of this section:         a. Press Room, Philadelphia Macaroni Co. - On or about November 8, 2013, an employee who was servicing a pump to the ChemStation tanks was exposed to the hazards of Sodium Hypochlorite (pH 12.1) and a Chlorinated Alkaline Concentrate (pH 14.0) did not receive adequate training to determine when, and what personal protective equipment shall be worn.

Press Room, Philadelphia Macaroni Co. - On or about November 8, 2013, An employee working on a chemical transfer pump was exposed to the hazards from Sodium Hypochlorite sanitizer (pH - 12.1) and Self-Foaming Chlorinated Alkaline concentrate (pH - 14.0) and had not received training on the labeling to determine the proper personal protective equipment to use or the hazards of the chemicals.
