29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(4): Ladders were used for purposes other than the purposes for which they were designed    a)  J-6 Water Tower - On or about 11/13/2013, employees were exposed to falling hazards when using step ladders as a stretch ladder to access dumpster.    In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).

29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(9): The area around the top and/or bottom of (a) ladder(s) was not kept clear:(a) (LOCATION) (IDENTIFY SPECIFIC OPERATION(S) AND/OR CONDITIONS)    a)  J-6 Water Tower - On or about 11/13/2013, employees were exposed to fall hazards when using the unstable step ladder to access the bottom of the dumpster to shovel Black Beauty sand into a pile that comes out of the Industrial Vacuum for abrasive blast recovery. The blasting media covered the bottom of the ladders' feet.    In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).
