29 CPR 1910.212(a)(l):  Machine guarding was not provided to protect operator(s) and other employees from hazard(s) created by rotating part and flying chips:      a)  Service Department (Tire Room) - Observed on or about 11/26/13.    1. Rotating parts, such as the chuck and unused portion of the drill bit, on a Guardian Power Products Heavy Duty Drill Press [Model: DP-Mini (GP)] were not guarded to protect employees from hand injuries.    2. Employees were exposed to eye injury as a safety shield, intended to deflect flying metal chips during rotor cutting, was not installed on an Ammco Model 3000 Brake Lathe (SN 47418).

29 CFR 1910.215(a)(4) :  Work rest(s) on grinding machinery were not adjusted closely to the wheel with a maximum opening of one eighth inch:       a)  Service Department (Tire Room) - Employees were exposed to hand injuries while grinding metal parts on the abrasive wheel of a Porter Cable Grinder (Model No. PCB525B6, SN 002693) that did not have a work rest.  On or about 11/26/13.
