29 CFR 1926.62(d)(7): Additional exposure monitoring was not conducted when there had been a change of equipment, process, control, personnel, or a new task initiated that may have resulted in additional employees being exposed to lead at or above the action level: (a) The employer did not conduct additional exposure monitoring after they changed the process of removing lead-containing paint from building structural steel components. The employer conducted exposure assessments when they initially utilized needleguns to remove paint, but failed to conduct additional monitoring when they started using a chemical stripping agent to remove the paint. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS REQUIRED

29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employees were not provided effective information and training as specified in 29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(2) and (h)(3) on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area: (a) At least two employees who were exposed to hazardous chemicals (e.g.,paint stripping chemical) while removing lead-based paint from structural steel had not been provided with the following information and training: * Information regarding the location and availability of the employer's written hazard communication program * Training on the details of the hazard communication program developed by the employer ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS REQUIRED
