CFR 1926.1417(o)(3)(i): The operator did not verify that the load was within the rated capacity of the equipment in that the weight of the load was not determined from a source recognized by the industry, such as the sign manufacturer's load information or by a calculation method recognized by the industry, such as calculating a steel beam from measured dimensions and a known per foot weight or by other equally reliable means.  a) On or about 10/25/13 the operator failed to verify the weight of a sign being removed from a steel structure in that when the sign was cut loose from the steel structure the crane tipped over coming to rest on the steel structure.
