Examples of guarding methods are-barrier guards, two-hand tripping devices,electronic safety devices, etc.  On or about November 27, 2013 in the Production Area, a machinist was exposed to a amputation hazard from the unguarded six inch saw blade on both sides of the vise of a Johnson horizontal bandsaw, SN 6958, Model J during operation.

Hard-service cord and junior hard-service cord No. 14 and larger may be repaired if spliced so that the splice retains the insulation, outer sheath properties, and usage characteristics of the cord being spliced.   In the Production Area, the flexible 230 Volt AC power cord on the Johnson Horizontal Bandsaw had been electrically taped in four areas identifiying cuts, splicing, and the taping did not retain the insulation of the cord being cut, spliced.
