29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.  a)  Work Site: 145 Grand Avenue, East Newark, NJ   Employees working from a scaffold while performing siding work were exposed to falling 11 feet to the ground below as there were no means of fall protection in place.    Violation observed on or about 12/6/2013.

29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(4): Ladder(s) were used for purposes other than the purpose for which they were designed.  a)  Work Site: 145 Grand Avenue, East Newark, NJ  Employee accessed the A frame ladder while ladder was in a folded position leaning against the side of the building, thereby exposing employee that utilized the ladder to a fall hazard of approximately 6 feet to the ground below.    Violation observed on or about 12/6/2013.
