29 CFR 1910.1030(d)(2)(i): Engineering and work practice controls were not used to eliminate or minimize employee exposure:   a) Between approximately August 1, 2013 and December 31, 2013, at the above located workplace an employee was required to use hypodermic needles. These needles did not have engineered sharps injury protection, and placed the employees at an increased risk of needle sticks. Effective and appropriate sharps with engineered sharps injury protection were commercially available. Employees using the syringes and needles without engineered sharps injury protection were therefore exposed to the hazards associated with bloodborne disease.
