29 CFR 1910.101(b): The in-plant handling, storage, and utilization of all compressed gases in cylinders, portable tanks, rail tank cars, or motor vehicle cargo tanks were not in accordance with Compressed Gas Association Pamphlet P-1-1965, which is incorporated by reference as specified in CFR 1910.6:   a) Loading Dock: A storage rack containing eleven LP gas tanks and an Argon compressed gas cylinder was located one foot from forklifts traveled to receive materials from the loading trucks, on or about 1/6/14.   As identified in Compressed Gas Association Pamphlet P-1-1965 3.3.8: Protect cylinders from any object that will produce a cut or other abrasion in the surface of the metal. Do not store cylinders near elevators or gangways, or in locations where heavy moving objects may strike or fall on them. Where caps are provided for valve protection, such caps should be kept on cylinders in storage.   NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.

29 CFR 1910.147(c)(4)(i): Procedures were not developed, documented and utilized for the control of potentially hazardous energy when employees were engaged in activities covered by this section:   a) Facility (South East) - The employer did not develop, document and utilize written procedures for controlling hazardous energy for employees that perform maintenance on machines, such as but not limited to the Bilco Washing Machine model 460-6 and Bilco CNS 110, on or about 1/6/14.   NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
