29 CFR 1910.1200(g)(1): Employers did not have a safety data sheet in the workplace for each hazardous chemical which they use (Construction Reference: 1926.59): a) At the worksite, a material data sheet for PPG Builders Spec Pro White/Pastel Base, containing silica, had not been obtained and was not available. Employees are exposed to inhalation hazards when spraying this paint.

29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area (Construction Reference: 1926.59): a) At the worksite where employees had not received information on the requirements of 1910.1200; operations in their work area where hazardous chemicals were present; and the location and availability of the written hazard communication program, including the required list(s) of hazardous chemicals, and safety data sheets required by this section. Employees had not been trained on the methods and observations that may be used to detect the presence or release of a hazardous chemical in the work area; the health hazards of the chemicals in the work area; protective measures; and the details of the hazard communication program developed by the employer, including an explanation of the labels received on shipped containers and the workplace labeling system used by their employer; the safety data sheet, including the order of information and how employees can obtain and use the appropriate hazard information. Employees use hazardous substances such as, but not limited to, PPG Builders Spec Pro White/Pastel Base, containing crystalline silica.
