Employees using and working in the vicinity of the Hitachi Coil Nailer were not using eye protection exposing them to penetrating eye trauma. 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13):  Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b):  a)  11 Wadams Court, West Orange, NJ.  Employees involved in residential framing work were exposed to falls of 9 feet to 16 feet to the floor and ground below as they were not using any means of fall protection.                                                         Violation observed on or about 01/13/2014.

29 CFR 1926.1052(c)(1)(ii):  Stairways having four or more risers or rising more than 30 inches (76 cm), whichever is less, were not equipped with a stairrail system along each unprotected side or edge:   a)  11 Wadams Court, West Orange, NJ.  Employees accessing the second floor of the new residential structure were exposed to falls of up to 9 feet as the stairway with 12 risers did not have stairrails.                                                           Violation observed on or about 01/13/2014.
