29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): "Unprotected sides and edges." Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.      (a) Overhang of Commercial Building - On or about January 17, 2014 one employee was exposed to a fall hazard when securing a movie set piece to the building from a working platform with unprotected sides which were 11 feet above floor level. Employee was not protected from falling to a lower level by the use of personal fall arrest system, safety net system or guardrail system.

29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(13): The top or top step of a stepladder shall not be used as a step.      (a) Commercial Building - On or about January 17, 2014 two employees were exposed to a fall hazard when working and standing on the tops or top steps of two Louisville Brute stepladders.
