29 CFR 1926.405(a)(2)(ii)(E): Lamps used in temporary wiring for general illumination were not protected from accidental contact or breakage:    a) On or about 1/21/14, in Ward 7A, Treatment Room 725A2, where improvements were underway at the VA Hospital, 3495 Bailey Ave., Buffalo, NY: A "clamp-on" portable light with a metal reflector and metal clamping handle was used to provide additional lighting to assist employees when reading drawings. The florescent light bulb in the socket was not guarded.    NO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

29 CFR 1926.404(f)(7)(iv)(C)(5): Exposed noncurrent-carrying metal parts of cord- and plug-connected portable hand lamps were not grounded:    a) On or about 1/21/14, in Ward 7A, Treatment Room 725A2, where improvements were underway at the VA Hospital, 3495 Bailey Ave., Buffalo, NY:  A "clamp-on" portable light with a metal reflector and metal clamping handle was used to provide additional lighting to assist employees when reading drawings. The portable light had only a 2-wire cord and was not grounded in any other manner.    NO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
