Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to foot pedal mechanism that were not guarded to prevent the unintentional operation, activation, and/or cycling of machines and/or machine components:   a) On or about 01/24/2014 at building # 11313 in the work shop area, the foot pedal that was utilized to operate the ANT 23 automatic notcher tool machine was not guarded exposing employees to a caught in hazard.    Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable means of abatement would be to equip the foot pedal with a guard.
