29 CFR 1926.405(g)(2)(iv): Strain relief. Flexible cords shall be connected to devices and fittings so that strain relief is provided which will prevent pull from being directly transmitted to joints or terminal screws. a. At the north/east ground floor apartment where an employee was breaking up concrete, the strain relief clamp on the female end of the extension cord was pulled away from the outer insulating jacket of the cord, thereby exposing the employee to an electrical contact hazard.
