29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding were not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. Examples of guarding methods are-barrier guards, two-hand tripping devices,electronic safety devices, etc.: In the facilities shop on or about March 7, 2014, and at times prior thereto, there was no guard for the chuck on a Ryobi 10 inch Drill Press, serial number 058563043. The drill press was used to drill holes steel metal for heating, ventilation and air conditioning work.

29 CFR 1910.215(a)(4): Work rests were not kept adjusted closely to the wheel with a maximum opening of one-eighth inch to prevent the work from being jammed between the wheel and the rest, which may cause wheel breakage: In the facilities shop on or about March 7, 2014, and at times prior thereto, the work rests on a Delta 8 inch Bench Grinder, model number 23840, were not adjusted to within one-eighth inch of the abrasive wheels. The work rest was three-fourths inch from the right wheel, and the other work rest was one-half inch from the left wheel. The grinder was used to sharpen tools.

The tongue guard was seven-eights inch from the left wheel. The grinder was used to sharpen tools.

The cord was used to power a 110 VAC charger for a golf cart.
