The employer does not ensure that  one or more methods of machine guarding was provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards created by point of operation, in-going nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks.        a.  This violation occurred on or about March 13, 2014, at the shop where the operator was exposed to caught-         in hazards when operating a rib straightener machine without a guard over the rollers.       b.  This violation occurred on or about March 13, 2014, at the shop where the operator was  exposed to amputation hazards when operating a rib straightener machine without a guard over the cutter.                   Pursuant to 29 C.F. R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that rib straightener is guarded to prevent employees from the hazards of ingoing nip points and point of operation.
