29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladders length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed: a) At 2584 Weston St Front of House Auburn, Alabama: On or about April 3, 2014 and at times prior; the employer failed to ensure a portable extension ladder used by employees to gain access to and from the roof had the rails extend at least three feet abave the landing area exposing his employees to a fall hazard of 10.8 feet to the ground below.
