OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm in that employees were exposed to crushing hazards. An employee was assigned to sandblast steel counterweights which were three feet ten inches (3 10") tall, two feet eleven inches (2 11") wide and three inches (3") thick. The counterweights were placed free standing on the three inch wide end when being sandblasted, thereby creating a tip over and crush hazard.
