29 CFR 1910.151(c): Where the eyes or body of any person may be exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body shall be provided within the work area for immediate emergency use. (a) Jonas Brothers Taxidermy Studio @ 10675 Empire Road, Lafayette, CO 80026: On or before April 16, 2014, the employer did not provide eye wash facilities to employees exposed to corrosive materials. Manufacturer's Safety Data Sheets indicated that eye wash was required for the following chemicals: Liqua-Tan (4% sulfonic acid), sodium carbonate (pH=11.4), and MDI Isocyanate (sensitizer). This condition exposed employees to eye hazards.

29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employers shall provide employees with effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment, and whenever a new physical or health hazard the employees have not previously been trained about is introduced into their work area. Information and training may be designed to cover categories of hazards (e.g., flammability, carcinogenicity) or specific chemicals. Chemical-specific information must always be available through labels and material safety data sheets. a) Jonas Brothers Taxidermy Studio @ 10675 Empire Road, Lafayette, CO 80026: On or before April 16, 2014, the employer did not provide hazard communication training to employees. The purpose of hazard communication training is to ensure that employees are informed of the hazardous characteristics of any materials they are working with and to ensure these workers are provided with the necessary knowledge to protect themselves. This condition exposed employees to chemical hazards.

If such hazards are present, or likely to be present, the employer shall: (i): Select, and have each affected employee use, the types of PPE that will protect the affected employee from the hazards identified in the hazard assessment; (a) Jonas Brothers Taxidermy Studio @ 10675 Empire Road, Lafayette, CO 80026: On or before April 16, 2014, the employer did not perform a hazard assessment of chemicals and materials used at the facility. The purpose of a hazard assessment is to determine the appropriate PPE and/or other controls needed to prevent hazards to employees. This condition potentially exposed employees to chemical hazards.
