29 CFR 1910.36(d)(1): Employee(s) were not able to open an exit route door from the inside at all times without keys, tools, or special knowledge.    On or about 4/16/14, in the production area, an emergency exit door was equipped with a dead bolt lock.      In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).

29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by rotating parts.    On or about 4/16/14, at Line 1 in the production area, employees were exposed to rotating parts, at the filler and capper of Line 1, as the locations were not guarded.      In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).

29 CFR 1910.1200(e)(1): The employer did not develop, implement, and/or maintain at the workplace a written hazard communication program which describes how the criteria specified in 29 CFR 1910.1200(f), (g), and (h) will be met.    On or about 4/16/14, at the Social Circle facility, the employer did not implement a written hazard communication program and instead only provided safety data sheets for chemicals, such as but not limited to Sodium Hypochlorite and BCS Sodium Hydroxide liquid, used by employees.      In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).

29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(3): The employee training did not include the requirements of 29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(3)(i) through (h)(3)(iv).  On or about 4/16/14, at the Social Circle facility, the employer did not perform hazard communication training to employees working in the production area. Chemicals used in production include corrosives such as Sodium Hypochlorite and BCS Sodium Hydroxide liquid.    In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).
