29 CFR 1926.503(a)(2): The employer did not assure that each employee exposed to fall hazards was trained by a competent person qualified in the areas specified in 29 CFR 1926.503 (a)(2)(i) through (viii)    a- 114 5th Avenue, Belmar NJ: Employees, not supplied with fall protection, were exposed to fall hazards of ranging from approximately 9 feet up to approximately 23 feet 5 inches to the ground surface below when performing floor joist installation and other related activites less than six feet from the unprotected edges of the residential structure.  These employees had not received fall protection training from the company.  Condition observed on or about 05/20/14.     NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM.  FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels was not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor was an alternative fall protection measure provided:    a- 114 5th Avenue, Belmar NJ: Employees, not supplied with fall protection or were utilizing improperly installed handrails, were exposed to fall hazards of up to approximately 23 feet 5 inches to the ground surface below when performing floor joist installation and other related activites less than six feet from the unprotected edges of a new residential structure.  Condition observed on or about 05/20/14.     JOHN DAHL & SON CONTRACTING, LLC. WAS PREVIOUSLY CITED FOR A VIOLATION OF THIS OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH STANDARD OR ITS EQUIVALENT STANDARD, 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), WHICH WAS CONTAINED IN OSHA INSPECTION NUMBER 410763, CITATION 1 ITEM 3, AND WAS AFFIRMED AS A FINAL ORDER ON 06/22/12, WITH RESPECT TO A WORKPLACE LOCATED AT 82 10TH AVENUE, BELMAR NJ.
