OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that the employees were exposed to struck by hazards: a. Site - On 5/29/2014 an employee performing paving operations was struck by a Bobcat skid steer (Model- S250, Serial- 52132629) resulting in a severe leg injury and eventual amputation. The bobcat was not equipped with a functioning back-up alarm nor did the operator use an alternative measure such as a spotter while reversing with an obstructed view.
