29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels was not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor was an alternative fall protection measure provided: a- 205 Bay Boulevard, Lavallette NJ: Employees, not supplied with the required fall protection, were exposed to fall hazards of approximately 22 feet to the ground surface below when performing roof shingle installation and other related activities at the edge of the residential structure's roof with a pitch of approximately 6 on 12. Condition observed on or about 06/11/14. NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): The employer did not provide a training program for each employee potentially exposed to fall hazards to enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards: a- 205 Bay Boulevard, Lavallette NJ: Employees, not supplied with the required fall protection, were exposed to fall hazards of approximately 22 feet to the ground surface below when performing roof shingle installation and other related activities at the edge of the residential structure's roof with a pitch of approximately 6 on 12. The exposed employees were unable to demonstrate that they had received fall protection training that allowed them to recognize the hazards of falling. Condition observed on or about 06/11/14. NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
