29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.   (a) 1701 Sunrise Highway, Bay Shore, NY (Worksite), Column Line R - Employees worked on the north and south edges of the partially demolished roof, at a height of 16' 9", without any form of fall protection on, or about June 27, 2014.    (b) Worksite, Column Line R - Employees worked on the edges of the opening along Column Line R of the partially demolished roof, at a height of 16' 9", without any form of fall protection. The opening ranged between 8" and 2' wide on, or about June 27, 2014.  Note: In addition to abatement certification, the employer is required to submit abatement documentation for this violation, in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19. Failure to comply may result in an additional penalty of $1,000.
