Current practice allowed employees to open the galley door to access a trash can located directly beneath the galley door. Employees disposed of trash removed from the plane into this trash can and were exposed to a 6 foot fall hazard.

29 CFR 1910.305(g)(2)(iii): Flexible cords were not connected to devices and fittings so that tension would not be transmitted to joints or terminal screws:    a) Plane Detail, LLC @ 5260 Banshee Rd., Hanger 42, Hazelwood, MO 63042: On and before July 2, 2014, the employer did not ensure that the flexible cord plug for the Electrolux Sanitaire vacuum was used in a manner which would maintain strain relief integrity. The outer sheath was pulled from the cord plug when the strain relief was damaged and thereby exposed the inner conductors. This condition exposed employees electrical shock hazards.

Employees utilize the cord to power one of two vacuum cleaners which are used on a nightly basis to clean the interior of planes. This condition exposed employees to electrical shock hazards.   b)      Plane Detail, LLC @ 5260 Banshee Rd., Hanger 42, Hazelwood, MO 63042: On and before July 2, 2014, did not remove from service 2 - 100 foot extension cords with missing grounding pins. Employees utilize the cord to power one of two vacuum cleaners which are used on a nightly basis to clean the interior of planes. This condition exposed employees to electrical shock hazards.
