29 CFR 1910.27(c)(4): "Clearance in back of ladder." The distance from the centerline of rungs, cleats, or steps to the nearest permanent object in back of the ladder shall be not less than 7 inches, except that when unavoidable obstructions are encountered.   Location: Apartment building 1312  a: On or about 27 May, 2014 an employee was allowed to use  fixed ladders that did not have at least 7 inches of clearance between the center line of its rungs and the wall it was fixed to.    In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification.  This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence, or written records.
