29 CFR 1910.178(l)(1)(i): The employer did not ensure that each powered industrial truck operator is competent to operate a powered industrial truck safely, as demonstrated by the successful completion of the training and evaluation specified in this paragraph (l): a) World Auto Parts, Inc., Huron, Ohio: On or about July 23, 2014, employees operated a power industrial vehicle to lift and/or maneuver pallets of auto parts and other materials throughout the facility. The employer did not ensure that employees successfully completed an operator training program containing elements in 29 CFR 1910.178(l) before employees were permitted to operate a sit-down counterbalance lift truck.
