Below are examples of pipes being used in industries that are suitable for the transport of compressed air. Metal Pipe such as black iron, stainless steel, copper, aluminum, etc. with proper thermal/pressure characteristics can be safely used.

29 CFR 1910.147(c)(2)(ii): The employer's tagout energy control program procedures did not successfully comply with 29 CFR 1910.147(c)(3) and no lockout was provided for employee protection: In the cut up area of the facility the employer is failing to ensure that when an authorized employee utilizes lockout/tagout procedures a lock is affixed to the electrical disconnect of the radial arm saw. Specifically when the maintenance mechanic performed his procedures to lock and tagout the Delta radial arm saw part # 438-02-314-2034 Serial 6k49tfls501aap. Only a tag was placed on the handle of the saw, this tagging procedure alone failed to demonstrate that the tag would protect the employees equal to that of a locking device would.
