Employees in the paint department were provided and required to wear 3M elastomeric, half-face, air-purifying respirators, which were equipped with combination (organic vapor and particulate) filters when they painted. b) Exclusive Events, Inc. @ 13633 Lakefront Dr., Earth City, MO 63045: On and before July 18, 2014, the employer did not establish and implement a respiratory protection program. Employees in the carpentry department were provided and required to wear 3M elastomeric, half-face, air-purifying respirators, which were equipped with combination (organic vapor and particulate) filters when they cut and sanded wood products.

29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area: a) Exclusive Events, Inc. @ 13633 Lakefront Dr., Earth City, MO 63045: On and before July 18, 2014, the employer did not inform employees in the Paint Department about the hazards associated with exposure to diipheynlmethane diisocyanate, a component in Styro-Spray 1000. Employees were not informed that isocyanates can create a sensitization which can result in an asthmatic reaction days, weeks, or months following an exposure. Employees were not informed that exposure to isocyanates can result in pulmonary edema and that sensitization can occur via dermal contact as well as via respiratory inhalation.
