29 CFR 1926.651(k)(1): Daily inspections of excavations, the adjacent areas, and protective systems were not made by a competent person for evidence of a situation that could have resulted in possible cave-ins, indications of failure of protective systems:  a)  At 1223 West 56th Street in Kansas City, MO 64113 -  Subcontracted employees were working in an excavation that measured approximately 7-10ft in depth and 6-8ft in width where the competent person had not conducted daily inspections of the excavation for evidence of situations that could have resulted in cave-ins.   NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABTEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19
