29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.  (a)  1401 North 3rd Street, Harrisburg Pennsylvania - Workers were exposed to a 7 foot 2.5 inch fall hazard when they used the back entrance of the building.  The employer did not ensure that conventional fall protection methods were used to protect workers exposed to a fall hazard, on or about August 28, 2014.  Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

29 CFR 1926.1052(c)(1)(ii): Stairways having four or more risers or rising more than 30 inches (76 cm), whichever is less, were not equipped with a stairrail system along each unprotected side or edge:  (a)  1401 North 3rd Street, Harrisburg Pennsylvania - Workers used stairs that were not provided with a stair rail when entering the building, on or about August 28, 2014.    Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
