OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees:    (a)  On or about 15 September 2014, and at times prior to that date, employees were exposed to struck-by hazards while working around automotive lifts, including an ALM two post lift, Model # 15001, Serial # 203L-0150, in that employees were working underneath raised vehicles with the lateral restraint locks inoperative.      Abatement note:       Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method of abatement would be to follow the requirements of ANSI/ALI 2011 which includes, among other requirements, the following:        1.  Institute a training program for the employees on the safe use of automotive lifts.       2.  Document and record the training for each employee.       3.  Inspections by a qualified person.

29 CFR 1910.1200(e)(1): The employer did not develop, implement, and/or maintain at the workplace a written hazard communication program which describes how the criteria specified in 29 CFR 1910.1200(f), (g), and (h) will be met:    (a)  On or about 15 September, 2014, and times prior to that date, employees were exposed to potential health hazards, including but not limited to tissue damage and/or lung injury, where the employees were working with and around various cleaning products which contain hazardous chemicals, which include but are not limited to, potassium hydroxide, without the benefit of any hazardous communication program being provided to include training or the availability of the hazardous chemical safety data sheets (SDS).

29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1): The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment (PPE):   (a)  On or about 15 September 2014, and at times prior to that date, employees were exposed to potential health hazards associated with utilizing hazardous chemicals in the detail area among other activities in that, the employer did not effectively assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment.
