29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652 paragraph (b) or (c):      The employer does not ensure that each employee in an excavation was protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system. This violation was observed on or about October 01, 2014, when employees were exposed to cave-in hazards while doing utility work in an excavation that was not protected from cave-ins.     Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that each employee in an excavation is protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system.
