29 CFR 1910.23(c)(1): Open-sided floors and/or platforms four feet or more above adjacent floor or ground level were not guarded with standard railings (or equivalent).   (a) Mechanics shop: Employees were exposed to a fall hazard when working near an open pit without guardrail system. The distance between the open side of  the pit and the ground was 54 inches.   Abatement certification is required for this item; use the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET for this purpose.

29 CFR 1910.305(b)(1)(ii): Unused openings in cabinets, boxes, and fittings must be effectively closed.  (a) Maintenance shop: Employees were exposed to electrical hazards, in that two electrical panels for the east bay and west bay cranes located on the west wall of the shop had two knockout openings which had not been effectively closed.   Abatement certification is required for this item; use the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET for this purpose.
