29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652(c): (a) Residential service vicinity of 510 Diamond Lane, Rice Lake, WI; employees were unprotected while working in a trench that did not have adequate cave-in protection systems. The trench was approximately eight feet deep with an excavation face that was greater than 90 degrees and had an overhanging soil ledge.
